Windstorm Labs is the engineering arm of the Windstorm Institute. We build and ship the Windy-* product family — voice, chat, mail, code, identity, travel — and we run the autonomous research fleet that powers the Institute's empirical work. Ten products. Twelve reproducibility repos. One RTX 5090.
Voice, chat, mail, code, identity, travel — built for humans and for AI agents. Every product in the family talks to every other one. Your AI agent gets an inbox on day one. Your voice lives forever. Your translation engine powers everything.
Independent third-party validator of AI agent identity, trustworthiness, and accountability. The 5-layer credential architecture — Soul Key, Recovery Phrase, Owner Account, Operator Token, Session Keys — that the rest of the family runs on.
Voice-to-text Electron app powered by 3,500+ specialized AI models. You were never meant to type your vision — speak it into existence. Free, private, yours.
A lifelong, self-improving AI companion that remembers everything and connects to the entire Windy ecosystem. Your AI. Your rules. Your ecosystem.
Encrypted messaging and social platform with built-in real-time translation. Speak English, they read Japanese. Matrix homeserver under the hood.
Email built for humans and AI agents. Your AI agent gets an inbox on day one. Secretary Mode lets it send from your Gmail. Welcome to email that actually works.
Turn your voice recordings into a digital twin. Voice clone, visual avatar, and soul file — all from the voice data you already have.
AI-native code editor with chat, mail, voice, and your personal AI agent built in. One window, everything you need.
The cloud built for AI creators. Store your voice models, transcriptions, soul files, and AI data. Sync across all your Windy apps.
3,500+ specialized translation models powering Windy Word, Windy Chat, Windy Traveler, and Windy Clone. Enterprise-grade translation API for developers.
Travel the world with AI-powered translation, tour guides, local deals, and trip planning. Speak every language in your own voice.
Twelve research papers. Twelve mirrored Labs repositories — experimental code, raw outputs, plots, datasets. The Institute publishes the manuscripts; Labs hosts the code that produced them. Mirrored 1:1 so any reader can reproduce the empirical results.

Windstorm Labs operates a single, well-tuned research workstation that runs experiments, training jobs, adversarial review, and the autonomous AI agent fleet that supports the Institute's empirical work — often overnight, often unattended. One rig, fully utilized.
32 GB VRAM. Runs 1,749-model evaluation sweeps, evolutionary simulations, model training.
Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, 24 cores, 256 GB RAM. Headroom for parallel data preprocessing.
AI research agents executing parallel experiments, adversarial review, and the multi-LLM workflows behind several published papers.
Single-site engineering and compute, with the Institute's research operations in Fort Ann, NY.
Every paper has reproducible code on Zenodo and on Labs GitHub. All experiments runnable on commodity hardware.
PyTorch 2.11, bitsandbytes 0.49.2 for ML; QuTiP 5.2.3 for quantum / Lindblad simulations.
Compute available to the Institute and select collaborators. Reach out if a research project would benefit from a few hours on the rig.
A small team backed by a fleet of autonomous AI agents. Founder-led, fully open-source, commercial-friendly licenses on the engineering code, CC BY 4.0 on the research output.
Phillips Exeter and U.S. Naval Academy graduate. Cross-disciplinary builder spanning AI tooling, voice tech, and information-theoretic research. Founder of both Windstorm Labs (engineering arm) and the Windstorm Institute (research arm).
Anthropic Claude, xAI Grok, Google Gemini, Perplexity Deep Research, and OpenAI models running in coordinated agentic configurations. Executes large-scale empirical experiments, adversarial review, and methodology case studies. Documented in the C8 Clarification Note.
We welcome collaborators on any of the Windy-* products and on the autonomous research fleet. If a research project would benefit from time on the rig, or if you'd like to integrate with a Windy product's API, reach out.
The Windstorm Institute publishes research on the mathematical constraints — information-theoretic and thermodynamic — that govern what physical systems can do. Windstorm Labs builds the AI tools and infrastructure that let those constraints get operationalized into shipping products. The same hardware that runs the autonomous research agents also serves the Windy product backends. The same person founded both. The two organizations are independent in legal status (the Institute is research-coded; Labs is a Utah LLC shipping products) but unified in mission: build infrastructure that respects the limits the Institute discovers, and use that infrastructure to make new tools possible.
